Organised by the IIRH – Institute for Human Resources Information, the event will take place on 20 October at the Lisbon Technology Forum – Lispólis and is expected to bring together over 500 participants and more than 30 speakers, cementing its position as a leading networking event for human resources and people management professionals.

Under the theme ‘Employee Experience 6.0 – how to create more humane, intelligent organisations that are prepared for the future of work’, Global Talent Day 2026 will place at the centre of the discussion the challenges that are transforming people management, ranging from the evolution of the employee experience and leadership to Artificial Intelligence, new skills, wellbeing and the future of work.

LEADERS’ DISCUSSION – 09:20

Topic: ‘Leading with Humanity | How to build companies that grow through People’

José Pedro Fernandes, Vice-President of SISQUAL® WFM

The discussion will also explore issues such as fostering cultures of trust, developing people and building organisations where talent finds the right conditions to grow and remain.

WFM as a driver of talent retention

Attracting and, above all, retaining talent has become one of the main challenges for Human Resources across sectors. Healthcare, retail, and hospitality are sectors where efficient team management is particularly important, given the need to balance operational requirements, staff availability, working hours, productivity, and quality of life.
In this context, Workforce Management (WFM) solutions are playing an increasingly strategic role. In addition to enabling more efficient management of timetables and shifts, they help organisations analyse team availability, anticipate needs, optimise resources, and create working models better suited to the needs of both the business and its staff.

For José Pedro Fernandes, people management is no longer merely a support function but has become a key factor in a company’s competitiveness:
“In an increasingly competitive labour market, the way a company manages and values its people has a direct impact on its ability to attract and retain talent. Technology enables people management to be transformed into a genuine competitive advantage, creating organisations that are not only more efficient but also more people-centred and better equipped to meet the needs of their staff.”

With solutions designed for Human Resources, Operations, and Information Technology, SISQUAL® WFM continues to focus on technological innovation as a tool to support organisations in efficiently managing their workforce, helping improve productivity, optimise resources, and promote a better employee experience.

This positioning is reinforced by the company’s recent recognition as a ‘Challenger’ in the Gartner® 2026 Magic Quadrant™ for Workforce Management (WFM) Technology, a distinction that aligns with SISQUAL® WFM’s strategy of being at the forefront of innovation in people management, bringing together technology, operational efficiency and quality of life at work.
