The Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira – SESARAM recently selected SISQUAL® WFM, following a public tender, to strengthen the planning and management of its workforce. The solution will enable more efficient management of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, whilst ensuring compliance with legal requirements relating to attendance and shift planning.
SESARAM is an integrated healthcare provider that coordinates the activities of health centres and hospitals across the Autonomous Region of Madeira, promoting the coordinated management of resources and the provision of care to individuals, families and communities. The organisation comprises four hospital units, 47 health centres spread across seven geographical areas of the portuguese archipelago, and two support units.
To address the challenges of a large-scale, highly complex operation, the institution has adopted several modules of SISQUAL® WFM, ensuring greater control, efficiency, and real-time visibility into operations.

Recognised for its commitment to quality, SESARAM holds accreditation based on the ACSA Model – Agencia de Calidad Sanitaria de Andalucía, a European methodology for the assessment and certification of patient-centred healthcare quality, officially adopted by the Portuguese Ministry of Health through the Directorate-General for Health.
The institution’s adoption of SISQUAL® WFM represents a further step towards the modernisation of public health services, enabling it to increase operational efficiency, strengthen control and legal compliance, improve staff satisfaction and, consequently, raise the quality of care provided to the population.
