SIMAS de Oeiras e Amadora, a Portuguese organisation responsible for providing public water supply and basic sanitation services to residents in the municipalities of Oeiras and Amadora, has adopted SISQUAL® WFM to improve shift management for its teams.
The creation and maintenance of SIMAS arose from the need to make water and sanitation services autonomous in two of the main municipalities of the Lisbon district, addressing pollution problems caused by population growth and the expansion of industrial activities in the areas covered by the service.
With continuous operations — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — and geographically dispersed teams, human resources management has become a critical component in ensuring service quality and continuity.
Consequently, several SISQUAL® WFM modules were implemented, providing greater control and real-time visibility of operations:
- SISQUAL® Quality of Life APP – Promotes greater employee autonomy in managing schedules, holidays and shift changes, strengthening internal communication.
- SISQUAL® Operations Cockpit – Enables real-time operational planning with greater efficiency and control.
- SISQUAL® RubricCalc – Ensures seamless integration with payroll processing.
- SISQUAL® Time & Attendance – Ensures accurate control of attendance and working hours.
- SISQUAL® Notifier – Configures alerts for situations that may affect service or legal compliance.
One of the key aspects of this project was its integration with the ERP and payroll system – AIRC – thereby strengthening compliance with labour legislation and optimising the transmission of payroll data to the organisation’s existing web service.
The implementation of SISQUAL® WFM at SIMAS in Oeiras and Amadora delivers tangible benefits for the institution, with a direct impact on operational efficiency and the quality of service provided to thousands of residents in both cities.
The partnership with SISQUAL® WFM also reinforces the role of technology as a driver of modernisation in public services.
By supporting organisations with high operational complexity, SISQUAL® WFM actively contributes to more efficient, resilient and sustainable services, to the continuous improvement of the quality of life of the populations served, and to a more effective balance between operational performance and the well-being of teams.
