In a dynamic and constantly evolving scenario such as healthcare, people management is no longer an administrative task, but has become strategic, human and often decisive. With that being said, SISQUAL® WFM has launched an unprecedented educational initiative in the Brazilian market: bringing the concept of WFM directly to the classrooms of nursing technicians in training.
On 11 and 12 August, two units of Colégio 24 de Maio, located in the city of São Paulo, will host the lecture ‘WFM in Practice: Shift Management in Nursing’, conducted by the team of experts from SISQUAL® WFM: Karla Spadafora, Health Product Manager for the Brazilian market, and Camila Vilas Boas, Project and Customer Support Consultant.
With this meeting, SISQUAL® WFM aims to expand access to knowledge about WFM among healthcare professionals, raising awareness of the topic from the beginning of their training. ‘Our goal is to contribute to the training of more conscious professionals, with a humanised mindset focused on the safety of patient care,’ explains Karla Spadafora.
Effective shift management is crucial in healthcare
As classes are about to complete their academic training, the college has around 80 students per unit, who will have the opportunity to understand how efficient shift management will directly impact their professional future and, consequently, the quality of care.
Camila Vilas Boas explains: ‘We know that many professionals are still unfamiliar with the concept of WFM. Therefore, as leaders in the sector, we feel responsible for introducing a tool that can significantly improve the routine of professionals and increase the efficiency of institutions.’
The topic of the lecture — ‘WFM in Practice: Shift Management in Nursing’ — was not chosen by chance. It is one of the primary responsibilities of these professionals, and understanding its complexity is essential for the success of healthcare teams in a hospital environment.
In Brazil, people management accounts for up to 60% of a nurse’s routine, which is why ‘developing strategic thinking and planning skills in those who are just starting ensures that the healthcare system will function better in the future,’ explains the Healthcare Product Manager.
Project expanding throughout Brazil
More than just a one-off lecture, SISQUAL® WFM is committed to this initiative as part of an ongoing movement to transform the sector, highlighting the role of technology as a key ally for healthcare professionals.
The initiative with Colégio 24 de Maio is just the starting point for a series of meetings that the company hopes to take to other educational institutions across the country.
