SISQUAL® WFM has just announced an important new client: Hospital de Base de São José do Rio Preto (HB), one of Brazil’s largest and most recognised hospital complexes. Hospital de Base (HB) is the second largest teaching hospital in the country and stands out for its highly qualified clinical staff and the high-tech medicine it offers patients, 85 per cent of whom come from the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS).
The public institution has 11 hospital units in São Paulo and currently employs more than 9,000 staff. The SISQUAL® WFM implementation project is scheduled to begin in November 2024 and be completed between April and May 2025. This partnership marks an important strategic step for the hospital’s internal management and for SISQUAL® WFM’s positioning in the healthcare sector in Brazil.
Effective planning is a priority
As a reference in highly complex medicine, such as organ and tissue transplants and paediatric cardiac surgery, HB was facing some challenges in managing its teams. With more than 2,700 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses and technicians from various specialities, the hospital needed a workforce management solution to improve:

The Hospital Base de Rio Preto is one of the leading institutions in the Brazilian public health system. Located in the interior of São Paulo, it is recognised nationally and internationally for its excellence in medical care, teaching and research.
It sees more than 12,000 patients in the emergency department every month, has 708 beds, including specialised intensive care services, and is considered the benchmark neonatal intensive care unit in the state of São Paulo.
HB is also the only hospital in the region to be a leader in HIV treatment and a pioneer in hospital computerisation in Brazil. In 2010, it carried out the country’s largest computerisation process for large hospitals, computerising prescriptions, medical records, analysis results, and e-mail scheduling of tests and consultations by the Basic Health Units.
